BIO
California-based award-winning songwriter Justin Froese is known for his catchy songwriting, his collaborative spirit and for a diverse palate of musical tastes. His mainstream sensibilities combined with ten years of classical music study have resulted in the ability not only to cross genres, but also in many cases, defy them. With impressive guitar skills and a smooth heartfelt voice, audiences are always left moving and grooving.
Other artists seek Justin out not only for his songwriting, but also for his unique ability to catch their vision and usher them into it. It was under Justin’s musical direction and visionary guidance alongside band leader Benjamin Door that Seattle band St. Paul de Vence sat securely in the top 10 charts of radio station KEXP for 7 consecutive weeks with their debut full length.
Other notable songwriting collaborations include the likes of Seattle artists Allen Stone, Zach Fleury, and Naomi Wachira, as well as San Diego’s female-fronted reggae band Hirie. One of his favorite co-writes yet was with the late Nashville based songwriter Nancy Montgomery, who was a Billboard country songwriter in Nashville and also was his cousin. Together they wrote “Finally Here,” which won multiple songwriting contest including 1st place awards in San Diego Songwriters Guild, Song Door International, and Indie International competitions.
Today Justin balances the path of being a performing and recording artist with coaching artists and songwriters in the evolution of their craft. On and off the stage songwriting remains a central vehicle for cultivating self-expression and artistic fulfillment. As a response to the growing desire in his community for more songwriting growth, Justin formed the Soulful Songwriters Collective in 2018 as a resource to meet the needs of songwriters for support, feedback, education and training in songwriting.
